From Bordeaux to Casa de Vino...
My story turned into experience
I never imagined that at 18, an experience among vineyards would forever change the way I welcome others...
Many years ago I lived in Bordeaux, one of the world's most important wine regions. I arrived with some uncertainty, not knowing the family who would be hosting me. But what I found was much more than just a place to stay: I found a home and a different way of life.
The Raynaud family, with whom I lived, produced excellent wine at their own château. At that time, wine culture was relatively unknown in Mexico. This fascinating world was completely new to me, and I was able to experience it firsthand. There I understood that wine doesn't begin in the glass, but much earlier.
I learned that the harvest only happens when the grapes are at their peak ripeness. Not before, not after. That each bunch is carefully selected. That then comes fermentation, where the sugar slowly transforms into alcohol and the wine's color develops naturally from the grape skins. That young wine needs to rest for months, sometimes years, to become something truly special.
But beyond the process, something else deeply affected me. The wine was always accompanied by something more important: hospitality, a shared table, and unhurried conversations. Everything invited you to stay a little longer. That's when I understood something very simple: wine isn't the most important thing, but it is the meeting point.
The best part is that it wasn't just an experience that faded into the past. To this day, I'm still in touch with the Raynaud family, who opened their home and their lives to me.
Over the years, my affection for them grew, and I recently had the joy of seeing them again. It was like coming home. I was only able to process what I experienced with them many years later, when this project was born.
I knew exactly what I wanted to create: not just a hotel where wine was the main focus, but a place where you can slow down, enjoy the details, and feel welcomed from the moment you arrive. That's why it's called Hotel Casa de Vino (Wine House Hotel), the perfect combination of the world of wine and the art of hospitality.
Today I invite you to share with me this experience of feeling at home.
If you feel you need a change of scenery, to escape the everyday routine, or to experience something simple yet meaningful, don't hesitate any longer. Take a break and come experience it for yourself.
This is your home.
We look forward to seeing you at Hotel Casa de Vino.
